How to Travel with your Corsets?

Centuries ago, when someone traveled from one state to another, it used to take a few days. If these people wanted to travel from one country to another, the option was through waterways which needed at least a week. Women used to carry huge trunks in which they had heavy clothing, accessories, and other essential items such as their expensive corsets. Before starting the article, let me apologize to the name of the product, as I was confused with the word waist trainer to waist trimmer. I always used to say the same until today when I knew the correct word and its purpose. The same product that I used with a thought that it would only reduce my weight but actually, it turned out to be completely different. It does not only trim but it a force to keep you in shape with regular diet plans and physical training.

With modern technologies and the introduction of high-speed travel options, the journey of a few days can be covered in just a few hours. Also, the huge trunks got replaced by suitcases and other travel bags. While women do not wear those heavy gowns and dresses that can take up huge space, there are not many changes noticed in the corsets. While you can accommodate a good number of attires in a single suitcase or a trolley bag, you need to think a bit while packing your corsets. It is not just about space. If you fold the corsets in the wrong way, these expensive garments can get destroyed.

How to Save Space?

So, how to save space and at the same time protect them from getting damaged?

Corsets have steel bones in them that you season as per your body type with great effort. If you are planning to place the corsets at the bottom of the suitcase on which you will stack in other clothes, let us tell you that this can alter the fitting of the corset that you have attained on seasoning.

So, what should you do so that you can save space and also you do not damage the corsets? One of the best ways is to use the duffel bags in which you carry toiletries and other accessories for your travel. For doing so, you need to roll the corsets and keep them properly in individual corset bags and then dump them in the duffel bag. Make sure to dedicate a single duffel bag for the corsets only, and while traveling, you should not exert pressure over this bag.

How to Manage Weight?

If you are traveling by train, you do not have to worry much about the weight of your luggage. But if you are traveling by flight, you will have restrictions regarding the weightage of the luggage.

The corsets have steel bones that will have a good amount of weight. So, you have to be ready to manage the weight of your luggage if you are traveling through flights. If you are traveling in a group, the weight can get dispersed among all the people in the group, and you may not have to face any trouble in traveling with your heavy garments such as corsets. But if you are traveling alone, you have to surely deal with it and think about managing the corset weight.

There are three different ways that you can try out to manage the weight of the corsets while traveling by air.

  • Carry a lesser amount of other items if you are carrying your corsets to carry the appropriate luggage weight.
  • If you think that you cannot leave out any of the items, you should be ready to pay for the extra weight at the airport.
  • Carry your corsets separately in a small duffel bag, and do not include this bag in the check-in luggage; rather, carry this with you inside the flight. But again, here, you need to make sure the duffel bag weight does not exceed the permitted luggage baggage that is allowed inside the flight.

Following these methods, you can easily manage the weight of the corsets in your luggage while traveling by air.

How to Prevent Loss?

Corsets are expensive, and you cannot afford to lose them or even get them damaged. Hence, you must take special care while you are traveling with corsets. Many women may carry the corsets in bigger vanity boxes so that even when pressure is exerted on the box, it does not reach out to the corsets. But this won’t be very much possible when you are traveling by air.

If you have put the corsets in a soft duffel bag and have included it with the check-in luggage, you may notice a few fitting errors later on in the corset. To protect the corsets from such issues, you can simply carry the bag with you in the form of cabin luggage. Just make sure that the weight is within the limit suggested by the airline.

You may have spent dollars on buying your favorite corsets. Hence, you will surely wish to carry them while you are traveling somewhere for a few days. It is very important to carry the corsets in the right way so that you do not end up damaging them.
