Often sitting or standing continuously can also lead to back pain. Corsets offer support to your back in such a case so that you can complete your task comfortably without getting much tired.

● Pain due to Accidents: If you have met with an accident that has led to back pain, doctors often prescribe waistbands. But if the pain has exaggerated till the top, you can use the overbust corset to relax your back muscles and get some relief from the pain.

● Corset Type: Corsets are available in different silhouettes such as curvy, conical, hourglass, and others. Women choose the corset type depending upon their likes. But this is not the right way of selecting a corset. You must select a corset depending upon your body type. Some women have a smaller rib cage area. Such women can go for the hourglass corsets or the curvy corsets. But if you have a wider ribcage area, it is better to get a conical corset that would not exert extra pressure on your rib cage area. Women who make the wrong selection often face pain in the rib area.

● Method of Wearing Corset: It is quite obvious that you can excel in wearing a corset in the first go itself. But you must know all the crucial points before you start corsetting. Here are some of the common mistakes that women make that can lead to pain and discomfort.

  • Not seasoning the corset will lead to discomfort.
  • Tightening the corset too hard in the first go will offer you pain and suffocation.
  • Wearing the corset too high or not in the proper place on your body will also cause pain.

Hence, you should know the right ways to wear a corset and know which corset will suit you.
